Three killed in shelling attack on railway station near Donetsk - Donetsk republic

MOSCOW. Feb 9 (Interfax) - Three people were killed and two others wounded when Ukrainian forces shelled the Skotovata station of the Donetsk railway, the transport ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic reported on Monday.

"Three people were killed and two others were seriously wounded when mortar fire was opened at the Skotovata station from the Ukrainian checkpoint. There were repair workers of the Donetsk railway at the station when the attack was launched," a ministry spokesman said, according to Donetsk News Agency.

"The situation is as follows today: the stretch between Yasynuvata and Skotovata is the only link between Ukraine and the Donetsk republic," the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic's transport minister Semyon Kuzmenko said. This stretch is used to supply raw materials to Donbas industrial enterprises, he added.
