ASTANA. Feb 13 (Interfax) - Two residents of Kazakhstan's Kostanai region have been accused of participating in armed clashes in the south-east of Ukraine in 2014, the Kazakh National Security Committee has said.

"The National Security Committee confirms the detention of two citizens of Kazakhstan, residents of the Kostanai region, on suspicion of committing a crime under Article 172 of the Penal Code (participation in armed conflicts abroad) by taking part in hostilities in Ukraine," a committee spokesman said on Friday when answering a question from Interfax.

A pre-trial investigation against the men has already been completed and their charges have been forwarded to the courts, the spokesman said without providing further details.
