Law On Defense specifies powers of president, govt on state armaments program

MOSCOW. Feb 13 (Interfax-AVN) - Changes specifying the powers of the president and the government on the development and organization of the fulfillment of the state armaments program have been made to federal defense laws.

The law, which was signed by the Russian president, is available for viewing on the official legal information portal.

The law now provides that the Russian president approve the state armaments program. The old edition of this sub-item read as follows: "approves federal state armaments and defense industry development programs."

The document specifies the powers of the Russian government. Specifically, one of the sub-items now reads as follows: organizes the development ad fulfillment of the state armaments program." A sub-item that reads "approves the state defense industry development program and organizes its fulfillment" was added to the document.
