Ushakov: illegal EU sanctions hinder solution to Ukrainian problem, Russia-EU relations

MOSCOW. Feb 16 (Interfax) - The Kremlin believes the new sanctions imposed by the EU, which hinder the settlement of the problems in Ukraine, are illegal and non-constructive.

"They [the sanctions] were approved before the Minsk meeting in the 'Normandy four' format. As I understand, the Council of the European Union confirmed them at the top level. However, our attitude to this issue remains unchanged. These sanctions are illegal, they prevent the settlement of the problem, I mean the Ukrainian problem, and they hinder the development of the entire range of relations between the EU and Russia," Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov told Interfax.
