MOSCOW. Feb 16 (Interfax-AVN) - Strategic Rocket Force (RVSN) training, which was conducted over the territory of twenty regions of Russia, has now ended, colonel Igor Yegorov, an official with the Defense Ministry's press service and information department on RVSN, told Interfax-AVN.
"The strategic rocket divisions used all types of rocket systems in the RVSN inventory. The main purpose of the training was to determine the ability of rocket divisions and regiments department to take measures to put [military units] on the highest combat preparedness for any situation," the officer said.
According to earlier reports, the RVSN training used over thirty rocket regiments stationed in different regions of Russia, from the Tver region to the Irkutsk region.
"The longest RVSN training is now over, but rocket regiments of mobile ground-based rocket systems will continue routine combat patrolling in the winter training period. RVSN will conduct over 100 trainings in 2015," the officer said.
"All in all, the RVSN units have covered over 600 issues, including those aimed at studying the possibilities of divisions armed with mobile ground-based rocket systems Topol, Topol-M and Yars to maintain combat potential in various situations," he said.
The training also addressed issues relating to combat methods appropriate to the nature of the enemy's actions and combat use of rocket systems.
