Kyiv sets unrealistic terms for arms withdrawal - Lavrov

MOSCOW. Feb 26 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov sees Kyiv's preconditions for starting to withdraw its heavy weapons in Donbas as unrealistic.

"The terms that are being set [by the U.S. and the EU] are in fact ridiculous, and they completely support the viewpoint of the Kyiv authorities, which, as you know, have stated that they would start withdrawing heavy weapons only if a quiet period without a single shot lasts for one or two days," Lavrov said at a press conference in reply to a question from Interfax.

"Everyone perfectly understands that ideal truces and ideal ceasefires don't exist," he said.
