MOSCOW. Feb 26 (Interfax) - Andrei Purgin, the head of the Donetsk People's Republic People's Council, has confirmed that the Donbas militia currently have no information on the withdrawal by Kyiv of heavy weapons from the contact line in southeastern Ukraine.
"We are currently only hearing statements. It's not quite clear to us if OSCE officials were present at that withdrawal like they were present at our withdrawal today and in the past days," Purgin said on Rossiya 24 television station.
"Ukraine is currently only making statements that they have begun heavy weapons withdrawals. We don't have any confirmation yet," Purgin said.
Eduard Basurin, a senior official with the DPR Defense Ministry, earlier said he had no information on weapons withdrawals by the Ukrainian armed forces.
