MOSCOW. March 2 (Interfax) - Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Russia's internal republic of Chechnya, thinks that Western special services organized the murder of Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov in order to destabilize the situation in Russia.
"Only forces interested in fanning tensions may have made such an insidious step. Masterminds of the murder hoped that the whole world would lay the blame on Russia and that [the murder] would spur a wave of protests. There is no doubt that Western special services that try by all means cause an internal conflict in Russia organized the murder of Nemtsov," Kadyrov wrote on his Instagram page on Saturday.
Ukrainian special services may be involved in Nemtsov's murder, he said.
Kadyrov thinks that Russian authorities are interested in solving the murder of Nemtsov and in bringing those responsible to justice.
"And reports show that every effort is made for this. First of all Boris Nemtsov is a Russian citizen and an attempt at the life of a Russian citizen should must be strictly punished. I express condolences to the mother, relatives and friends of Boris Nemtsov," Kadyrov wrote.
