KYIV. March 11 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said 66 Ukrainian troops were killed in the militia offensive on the city of Debaltseve, Donetsk region.
"A demand for a full ceasefire on all sides was made at 00.00 on February 15. However, later there was a massive attack on the Debaltseve track. Sixty-six Ukrainian troops were killed and over 300 were wounded," Poroshenko said at a press conference he gave jointly with Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven in Kyiv.
Poroshenko reiterated that, despite these events, Ukraine continues fulfilling its obligations as per the Minsk agreements.
The militia assumed control over Debaltseve in late February.
