Georgia trying to turn non-use of force doc into anti-Russian one - Lavrov

MOSCOW. March 11 (Interfax) - Geneva talks over a document renouncing the use of force in South Caucasus continued but the idea is advancing slowly, with Georgian partners seeking to turn the document into an 'anti-Russian scheme', says Sergei Lavrov, Russia's Foreign Minister.

"We have long favored the adoption of the document over non-use of force […] so far this idea has struggled to make its way. Our Georgian partners would like to turn this document into an anti-Russian scheme," he told reporters after talks with his Abkhaz counterpart Vyacheslav Chirikba.

"European, UN and other mediators seem to understand that one should stop trying to speculate on this issue, but so far nothing seems to be working," Lavrov said.

"But the discussions will continue, we consider this format quite useful. And it is obvious that some positive changes have happened in the process," Lavrov said.
