Lavrov calls to accelerate Contact Group work on Minsk deal fulfillment

MOSCOW. March 17 (Interfax) - The Russian Foreign Ministry calls for accelerating the activity of the Contact Group for Ukraine.

"We think it is necessary to accelerate the activity of the Contact Group as the Minsk accords signed on February 12 present a package of measures to be implemented within the Contact Group framework," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters on Tuesday.

The Normandy Four whose leaders passed a Minsk declaration supporting the package of measures have agreed to control the process, he said.

"So, we keep telling our German and French colleagues in [our] daily contacts that it is necessary to send relevant messages to Kyiv," Lavrov stated.
