Kyiv thanks U.S. congressmen for lethal arms resolution

KYIV. March 24 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has thanked the United States House of Representatives for passing a resolution that recommends President Barack Obama to begin the delivery of lethal weapons to Ukraine.

"I am grateful for the U.S. House of Representatives' resolution urging military assistance to Ukraine," Klimkin tweeted on Tuesday.

A resolution recommending President Obama to supply lethal weapons to Ukraine was passed on Monday by 348 votes to 48 against. The document was backed by both the Republicans, who make up the House majority, and the Democrats.
