MOSCOW. March 24 (Interfax) - Moscow drug control officers have seized a 70 kilogram heroin shipment worth over 200 million rubles, a source in the Moscow division of the Federal Drug Control Service (FSKN) told Interfax.
"Officers of the Moscow division of the FSKN have detained a member of a criminal group dealing large quantities of high-concentration heroin in the city. The group masterminds and members recruited accomplices in Tajikistan and sent them to Moscow to broaden the distribution," he said.
The police learned about the arrival of a group member in Moscow's Domodedovo airport from Dushanbe. He was tasked to collect a large batch of heroin from a cachet, pack the drug, and sell it to wholesale dealers in the Moscow region.
The detainee has been indicted and put under arrest. If found guilty, he is facing a sentence from 15-20 years to lifetime.
