Moscow urges U.S. to withdraw non-strategic nuclear weapons

MOSCOW. March 24 (Interfax) - The Russian Foreign Ministry has called on the United States to withdraw its non-strategic nuclear armaments and to ban their deployment on foreign territories.

"This an apparent problem and it can have only one solution - the return of all non-strategic nuclear weapons to their national territories and the ban on their deployment abroad, the dismantlement of rapid deployment infrastructures and the end of nuclear weapon exercises involving personnel of non-nuclear states," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said in his reply to a media question posted on the ministry website on Tuesday.
