Russia to send next aid convoy to Donbas on March 26

KALUGA. March 24 (Interfax) - The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry has endorsed plans extending humanitarian aid to the population in the south-east of Ukraine, Emergency Situations Minister Vladimir Puchkov has said.

"All such plans have been confirmed. We intend to continue extending humanitarian relief and support to the people in the east of Ukraine," he said.

Russia is expected to send the next humanitarian aid convoy to Donbas on March 26, the minister said.

"We plan to deliver food, medicine, essential items, as well as 'special-purpose cargo' - seeds and fertilizers for the sowing campaign," Puchkov said.

The convoy will also deliver books and textbooks for university and schools students, who are forced to study in the most challenging conditions in Donbas, he said.

In addition to that, the next batch of aid for the south-east of Ukraine will include "construction materials and expendable materials for the water supply systems, the energy sector and the housing and utilities sector," he said.
