MOSCOW. March 24 (Interfax) - Russia and Vietnam are already working to organize joint design of weapons, Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Konstantin Vnukov said.
"Russia and Vietnam have a good potential and mutual interest in conducting joint research and design to create prospective military products. The two countries' relevant government departments and organizations are already working in this area," Vnukov told Interfax.
Among priorities of the defense-industrial cooperation between Moscow and Hanoi are: to develop Vietnam's naval forces, including the creation of a submarine fleet, to supply aircraft, to gradually establish licensed production in that country of certain types of weapons and military hardware, the diplomat said.
