MOSCOW. March 24 (Interfax-AVN) - The scientific technical council of the Russian federal space agency (Roscosmos) has recommended that Russia honor its obligations under the International Space Station (ISS) program until 2020, and continue working until 2024, the council's chief Yury Koptev told reporters on Tuesday.
"Three modules, which were designed and are now being manufactured for the Russian ISS segment, cold become a basis for the new station. Particular attention will be paid to conducting technological experiments," he said.
NASA has proposed using the ISS through 2027, he said. "There have been some very tentative proposals: to considering (working through) 2027. No one has studied them in detail yet," Koptev said.
