Recent military exercises show efficiency of troops' control from one center - Defense Minister Shoigu

MOSCOW. March 24 (Interfax) - The recent surprise inspection of the Russian armed forces' combat readiness has shown that they can be efficiently managed from the National Defense Control Center, says Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

"The objective that you set before us last May was that most of our activities should be coordinated by one lever, or one button. This objective was tested, and it has proven to be efficient on the whole," Shoigu said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.

The objective set by the president was attained "involving the newly-established National Center and district centers," he said.
