Russia proposes changes to draft UN resolution on Yemen standoff

MOSCOW. April 2 (Interfax) - Russia has proposed amendments to key points of a draft resolution on the situation in Yemen that has been put before the UN Security Council by a group of Arab states, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday.

"This document, if it has a chance of being passed, should aim to make it binding on the parties to this conflict to put an immediate end to their armed confrontation and start a process of looking for a political settlement," ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich told a briefing in Moscow. "It's a set of measures that are proposed by the Russian Federation, among others."
