Landing ships Novocherkassk, Alexander Otrakovsky back to Black Sea

MOSCOW. April 9 (Interfax-AVN) - Landing ships attached to the Russian Navy task force permanently deployed in the Mediterranean have undergone routine rotations, a source in the Russian Navy staff told Interfax-AVN on Thursday.

"The landing ship Novocherkassk of the Black Sea Fleet and the landing ship Alexander Otrakovsky of the Northern Fleet passed the straits and entered the Black Sea on Wednesday," he said.

Landing ships operating within the Navy task force in the Mediterranean regularly visit seaports on the Russian Black Sea coast, including Novorossiysk to replenish their reserves.

The Novocherkassk and the Alexander Otrakovsky have paid three visits to the Mediterranean Sea each since the beginning of 2015.
