MOSCOW. April 9 (Interfax) - Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, who will be on an official visit to Russia starting on April 12, should meet with the Russian leadership and take part in signing a number of intergovernmental agreements, Palestinian Ambassador to Russia Fayed Mustafa said.
"Our president will meet with President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Patriarch Kirill, and Council of Muftis Chairman Ravil Gainutdin," Mustafa told Interfax.
"Several agreements will be signed between the governments during this visit, in particular, that on cooperation between the economic development, communications, and finance ministries," he said.
Abbas and his Russian counterparts should discuss a Palestinian-Israeli peace process, the situation in the region on the whole, and bilateral relations, he said.
After Moscow, Abbas will also visit Sochi, Mustafa said. His visit to Russia will last three days.
