Russian company to replace Germany's Rheinmetall to equip Mulino range

MULINO RANGE, Nizhny Novgorod region. April 9 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry has replaced the German company Rheinmetall AG, which has failed to implement a contract for supplying equipment for the Mulino military range in the Nizhny Novgorod region, with the Russian company Garnizon, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Yury Borisov told journalists on Thursday.

"Everyone is aware that, once the sanctions were imposed, the German company Rheinmetall stopped supplies under the contract that was concluded for equipping this range. Perhaps this will be and already is a matter of litigation, because the money has been paid, and no shipments have been started," Borisov said.

The Defense Ministry didn't take long to find a company to replace Rheinmetall, Borisov said. "As for the replacement, everything that we earlier planned to buy from Rheinmetall […] has been arranged for by the company Garnizon, which is completing this contract now," Borisov said, adding that the Mulino range will be commissioned as planned.
