Peskov calls reports on possible meeting of Russian, Japanese leaders in Astana premature

MOSCOW. April 13 (Interfax) - The Kremlin says it would be premature to speak about a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in August in Astana, a leg of Abe's Central Asian tour.

"It is much too early to say so. The schedule of [the president's] trips due in August has yet to be updated," Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

The Japanese media said that Abe was considering a possible meeting with Putin in Astana where he is expected to visit in August.
