MOSCOW. April 16 (Interfax) - The international community is facing a choice between confrontation and cooperation at the moment, says Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
"We have approached a landmark where again, just as following WWII, it's necessary to make a choice between cooperation and conflicts," Lavrov said at the 4th international security conference in Moscow on Thursday.
Russia "has invariably been guided by a sober and pragmatic approach and is far from deliberately fomenting alarmist sentiments," he said.
"I would like to call for avoiding the underestimation of prospects in international security's dangerous deterioration. As the world has moved far ahead on the path of globalization, the threat that the problems existing in the security area in various regions and in seemingly various areas could tangle into one tight knot is becoming increasingly more realistic," he said.
