MOSCOW. April 21 (Interfax-AVN) - About 300 Russian Strategic Missile Forces weapons will participate in the V-Day parades in Moscow and another six Russian cities on May 9, the Defense Ministry said.
"Multi-axis tow trucks of Topol road-mobile missile systems, Topol-M and Yars will take part in the parades on the central streets of Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Kirov, Orenburg, Yoshkar-Ola and Vladimir," representative of the ministry's press service and information department Col. Igor Yegorov told Interfax-AVN on Tuesday.
Three Teikovo missile formation Yars missile launchers will be part of the parade on Moscow's Red Square.
Parades in the regional administrative centers will feature launch support vehicles, communication vehicles, BTR-70 and BTR-80 armored personnel carriers, Vystrel and Taifun combat vehicles, and WWII systems.
More than 12,000 Russian Strategic Missile Forces servicemen will participate in V-Day parades in cities where their staffs and formations are headquartered, Yegorov said.
