ISS' Russian modules may be used to build national orbital station - Roscosmos

MOSCOW. April 22 (Interfax-AVN) - Roscosmos will design a national orbital station project using Russian modules of the International Space Station (ISS) to accommodate "possible political risks and force majeure circumstances", Roscosmos Science and Technology Council Chairman Yuri Koptev said on Wednesday.

"We will have a possibility to cushion political risks. If any force majeure circumstances or another political demarche happen, we will be able to preserve 'the backbone', the core, the foundation of such a station after 2019 and we may be develop it in cooperation with BRICS member states or somebody else," Koptev said.
