MOSCOW. April 24 (Interfax) - Continuing tensions in the south-east of Ukraine are destabilizing the situation in the area of responsibility of Russia's Southern Military District, the district's commander Col. Gen. Alexander Galkin has said.
"A factor destabilizing the situation in our area of responsibility is the political crisis that broke out in Ukraine in 2014 and led to armed confrontation, effectively a civil war in the south-east of the country," Galkin told a World War II conference on Friday.
