MOSCOW. May 18 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov does not think the decision to lift the embargo on S-300 shipments to Iran was a mistake.
"I absolutely disagree with those saying that the S-300 shipment was a political blunder," he said during a business breakfast at the office of the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper on Monday.
"If the Americans reward Iran for its constructive participation in the talks (over Iran's nuclear problem) by reducing their unilateral restrictions, then why should Russia act otherwise in principle politically? We were convinced that it had to be done," he said.
