Lithuanian embassy declines to comment on detention of accused spy in Russia

MOSCOW. May 20 (Interfax) - The Lithuanian Embassy to Moscow has declined to comment on the arrest of a Lithuanian citizen identified as Arstidas Tamosaitis on spying charges in Russia.

"We have no comment on this situation," the embassy told Interfax on Wednesday.

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) had announced earlier that its officers had detained a member of a Lithuanian intelligence service while receiving classified information.

The accused Lithuanian spy is currently being held at the Lefortovo detention center, and the necessary investigative procedures are being conducted, the FSB said.
