Exports account for lion's share of Kazan Helicopter Plant revenue - General Director

MOSCOW. May 22 (Interfax-AVN) - The share of exports in the overall revenue of the Kazan Helicopter Plant stands at over 80%, Plant General Director Vadim Ligai has said.

"Mil Mi-17V-5 helicopters are the top export item," Ligai, who is also Russian Helicopters' Deputy General Director, told Interfax-AVN in Moscow on the sidelines of the HeliRussia 2015 helicopter show.

"The orders for Mil Mi-17V-5 and Mi-8MTV-5 helicopters dominate in the production plan of the Kazan Helicopter Plant. The rates of their production are the highest," he said.

In addition, the plant manufactures Ansat-U training helicopters on the orders of the Defense Ministry. The plant will continue to build these helicopters "but the share of Ansat-U in the overall produce of the Kazan Helicopter Plant is not large," Ligai said.

"The plant has built its first serial Mil Mi-38 helicopter and a trial batch of four Mil Mi-38 vehicles," he added.
