LPR: OSCE monitors come under fire from Ukrainian military

LUHANSK. May 22 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian military have opened fire on representatives of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) in violation of international norms," Igor Yashchenko, deputy head of the People's Police Corps of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR), has said.

"The attack on representatives of the OSCE mission, which is a major violation of international regulations and laws, causes special concerns. Representatives of the OSCE mission came under mortar fire at a crossroads during rotation in the Shchastya area on May 20," he told a briefing in LuhanskInformCenter on Friday.

The rotation had to be postponed and took place in the area of Stanitsa Luhanska, Yashchenko said.
