Three newly-armed missile units to enter service in 2015

MOSCOW. May 22 (Interfax-AVN) - Over the summer training period that begins for the Russian Armed Forces on June 1 and ends on October 30, the Strategic Missile Troops (RVSN) will focus their efforts mainly on enhancing personnel skills, RVSN spokesman Col. Igor Yegorod said after an RVSN Military Council meeting on Friday.

During the period, the troops "will learn using new types of weapons and units of the Novosibirsk, Kozelsk and Nizhny Tagil missile divisions will enter service as per schedule," he said.

The Novosibirsk missile division is armed with "Topol" mobile missile systems which are now being routinely replaced with Yars mobile missile systems. The Kozelsk division is being re-armed with Yars silo-based missiles systems; the Tagil one, with Yars mobile missile systems.
