Eighty-five Ukrainian subversive groups set up in Donbas - Basurin

DONETSK. May 25 (Interfax) - Ukrainian forces have set up 85 subversive groups with foreign nationals in their ranks, said Eduard Basurin, the self-declared Donetsk republic's defense spokesman.

"According to our intelligence, 85 subversive groups of various strength have been formed in the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics controlled by occupation forces. Nineteen of them are fully manned by foreign nationals and special force operatives from Europe and the United States, and from Georgia and Baltic republics who speak very good Russian," Donetsk News Agency quoted Basurin as saying.

Their mission is to destroy infrastructure, he said.

"Their chief mission is to destroy transport, economic and social infrastructure in the Donetsk and Luhansk republics, to eliminate the commanders of our combat units and to instill fear by staging terror attacks and subversive acts," he said.

They employ Russian-speaking foreign nationals, which indicates that preparations are on for provocations. "They are planning terror attacks, using personnel wearing Russian military uniforms - not only in our republics, but also in Kyiv-controlled localities in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions," he said.
