Moscow condemns Friday bomb attack in Saudi Arabia

MOSCOW. May 25 (Interfax) - Moscow strongly condemns a Friday bomb attack in Saudi Arabia and believes its organizers must be brought to justice, says Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich.

"We condemn this bloody terrorist crime strongly and unconditionally. We express our sincere condolences to the families and beloved ones of the dead and wish those injured the soonest possible recovery. All instigators and organizers of this terrorist attack must bear a severe punishment they deserve," Lukashevich said.

At least 21 people were killed and about hundred others injured in a suicide bomb attack on the Imam Ali mosque in Qatif governorate, Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province, during a Friday prayer on May 22. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack.

"Moscow firmly supports the efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leadership and law enforcement agencies to uncompromisingly oppose terrorists of every hue," Lukashevich said.
