Militia registers 36 fire attacks by Ukrainian military in Donbas

DONETSK. May 25 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian military opened fire at militia positions 36 times on Saturday.

"Thirty-six instances of fire were registered. Ukrainian tanks opened fire once, infantry vehicles - two times, mortars were used 17 times, air defense systems - twice and 12 times the adversary used grenade-launchers and small arms," Interfax was told at the Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic on Sunday.

The following communities came under fire: Tavricheskoye, Shyrokyne, Horlivka, Yasinovataya, Spartak, Zhabicheve, Kalinivka, Dokuchayevsk, Yelenivka, Sanzharovka, Nizhne Lozove and Staromikhailivka. The area of Donetsk airport also came under fire.

"The size of possible losses is being finalized," the Defense Ministry said.
