Russia to supply S-300 with improved technical characteristics to Iran - Russian presidential aide Kozhin

KUBINKA, Moscow region. June 16 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia and Iran are drafting a contract to deliver S-300 surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems to Tehran; supplies will begin once the documentation is formalized, Russian Presidential Aide for Military-Technical Cooperation Vladimir Kozhin told Interfax-AVN on Tuesday.

"The contract is in the works to prepare for a delivery. I cannot tell the timeframe, talks are focusing on a narrow field," Kozhin said.

"There have been certain changes in the system, certain technical characteristics have improved," he said.

"Currently, specialists are measuring every screw and every element. When they are done, the contract will be formalized and supplies will begin," Kozhin said.
