KYIV. June 29 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Security Service reports the detention of one of the top-ranking officers of the Security Service department for Kyiv and the Kyiv region on suspicion of collaboration with Russian special services (Ukrainian Criminal Code Article 111 dealing with high treason).
"Other Security Service officers are also being checked for their possible affiliation with foreign special services," the Security Service press center quoted its acting chief Vasyl Hrytsak as saying on Saturday.
The Security Service is continuing to work to purge itself of disloyal members, Hrytsak said.
