DONETSK. June 29 (Interfax) - The Minsk talks over the crisis in eastern Ukraine are not having any effect on the frontline situation, according to the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
"Consultations are underway within working groups, but the peace process is not. Had they been making the political decisions that would get implemented, this would have defused tensions and made it easier to stop the military barrage that is growing and growing. Today, unless there are fast political decisions, such a stretchy negotiating situation does not impact on what is taking place on the contact line," DPR People's council chairman Andrei Purgin, told reporters on Sunday.
The Minsk process is protracted but all four subgroups have been notified of the situation on the front, he said. Nevertheless, there is no political document to regulate the situation, the DPR parliamentary speaker stressed.
"There is no document, no breakthrough. So far there is none," Purgin said.
The Trilateral Contact Group on Donbas crisis resolution held three meetings in June: on June 2, 16 and 23.
The talks involve representatives from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, Ukraine and Russia.
In addition, the Contact Group set up four thematic subgroups to deal with political, security, humanitarian and economic issues.
