Russian Defense Ministry to buy 1 squadron of 5th generation fighters in 2016-2017 - deputy minister

ST. PETERSBURG. July 2 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry's plans to buy one squadron of fifth-generation fighters officially called the Prospective Airborne Complex of Frontline Aviation (PAK-FA), or T-50, in 2016-2017 have not changed, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Yury Borisov said.

"As we planned, we will buy one squadron of PAK FAs in 2016-2017. It will be operated as a combat unit," Borisov told journalists at the International Maritime Defense Show 2015 (IMDS 2015) in St. Petersburg on Thursday.
