MOSCOW. July 6 (Interfax) - Russia is still open to equitable cooperation on the international arena, but, if need be, it should adjust its foreign policy concept in the current conditions, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"If it should be necessary, adjustments should be made to the foreign policy concept and the foundations of Russia's comprehensive policy in the CIS area. At the same time, our strategic foreign political course remains unchanged: we are open to equitable cooperation and collective work on key aspects of the international agenda," Putin said at the Russian Security Council session on Friday.
Russia will continue to build relations with its partners "based on the principles of respect and mutual consideration of each other's interests, certainly without detriment to its own sovereignty and national security," Putin said.
