MOSCOW. July 7 (Interfax) - No one has the right to demand the resignation of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riyad Haddad has said.
"From the very beginning of the Syrian events, the Americans have been calling for the resignation of President Bashar al-Assad, and I would like to say, as Vladimir Putin has said, that no one has the right to demand the resignation of President al-Assad," Haddad said, commenting at Interfax's request on a statement by U.S. President Barack Obama on the need to form a new government without al-Assad in order to fight ISIL.
