KYIV. July 7 (Interfax) - Bulgaria considers Crimea to be part of Ukraine and will never recognize the referendum results in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions on the basis of which the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics were formed, Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev said in Kyiv on Tuesday.
"Bulgaria supports the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine. The annexation of Crimea... violates international law, the Ukrainian Constitution and the 1994 Budapest memorandum. Bulgaria doesn't recognize and will never recognize this unlawful act," Plevneliev said at a joint news conference with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
According to Plevneliev, "Bulgaria will not recognize the results of the referendums unlawfully organized and carried out by separatists in Donetsk and Luhansk."
"The Donetsk crisis" should be resolved through implementation of Minsk agreements, Plevneliev said. "EU sanctions against Russia are related to the implementation of the Minsk agreements, Bulgaria supports them and will act in support of Ukraine in regard to EU sanctions," the Bulgarian president said.
Bulgaria will support Ukraine on its EU integration path, Plevneliev said.
