MOSCOW. July 8 (Interfax) - U.S. Ambassador to Russia John Tefft has no information on whether any consultations are under way to step up U.S. sanctions against Russia.
Asked whether consultations were being held on new sanctions against Russia, Tefft told journalists on Wednesday that he was unaware of any consultations on expanding U.S. sanctions in relation to Russia at the moment, saying at the same time that the current sanctions remain in place.
He said also that, as far as he understood, the current sanctions have been imposed until the end of 2015.
