MOSCOW. July 9 (Interfax) - Russia will seek an adequate reaction from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to the actions of Ukrainian authorities regarding Russian reporters, in particular the recent deportation of a Channel 1 reporter, Russian Foreign Ministry Commissioner for Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law Konstantin Dolgov said on Thursday at a meeting of the working group for analyzing Ukrainian legislation in the State Duma.
"Naturally, we will achieve an adequate reaction because this is most serious violation of Ukraine's relevant obligations - in this case, in the framework of the OSCE as well as in the framework of the European convention on human rights," Dolgov said.
This deportation was rude, Dolgov said. "Of course, we demanded a reaction from the OSCE, [from OSCE] Representative on Freedom of the Media [Dunja] Mijatovic. They said quite timidly from the office of Ms. Mijatovic that they are studying the situation and watching it," he said.
This course continues in Ukraine, Dolgov said.
"Essentially, it concerns discrimination of Russian mass media outlets in Ukraine and, by the way, a number of other countries, including Baltic states. Of course, this is a coordinated line and this should be said openly," Dolgov said.
