MOSCOW. Aug 25 (Interfax) - Russian citizens Alexander Alexandrov and Yevgeny Yerofeyev detained by Ukrainian security services in Donbas in May have been put on prisoner swap lists, a source in the government of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic told Interfax on Tuesday.
"Both Yerofeyev and Alexandrov have been added to the prisoner exchange lists because they are employees of the LPR militia. Their names are listed amongst our other supporters seized by Kyiv security services," the source said.
Russian citizens Alexandrov and Yerofeyev were detained by Ukrainian security services near the town of Shchastya in the Luhansk region on May 16. The LPR authorities claimed that the Russians were employees of the self-proclaimed republic's militia.
Ukraine said that Yerofeyev and Alexandrov were Russian servicemen. The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed they were Russian citizens but said they were not serving in the Russian Armed Forces at the moment of their detention.
A court in Kyiv ordered to arrest the Russians.
The Ukrainian Security Service head's advisor Yuriy Tandyt said on July 28 that the trial of Alexandrov and Yerofeyev would begin in Ukraine in September.
