MOSCOW. Aug 26 (Interfax-AVN) - The Soyuz TMA-18M manned spaceship planned to blast off from Baikonur on September 2, 2015, will approach the International Space Station (ISS) within two days, Roscosmos has said.
"On July 26, 2015, the ISS performed a maneuver to avoid a collision with space debris and its orbit was lifted. That significantly changed ballistic conditions and required the adjustment of the ISS maneuvering plan," the Roscosmos press service said in a report seen by Interfax-AVN on Wednesday.
Acting head of the Federal Space Agency Alexander Ivanov said "it was the safest and most reliable solution. The docking is scheduled for September 4," the press service quoted Ivanov as saying.
Soyuz TMA-18M with an international crew of Sergei Volkov (Roscosmos), Aidyn Aimbetov (Kazcosmos) and Andreas Mogensen (Denmark, ESA) is planned to take off from Baikonur on September 2.
