ZHUKOVSKY (Moscow region). Aug 26 (Interfax-AVN) - Tests of another three fifth-generation fighters will begin in 2015, United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) President Yuri Slyusar said at the MAKS 2015 international aerospace show in Zhukovsky in the Moscow region.
"Three aircraft will join test flights this year. The plane is confirming its properties during tests," Slyusar said.
The customer, the Russian Defense Ministry, is satisfied with "the progress of the program," he said.
The Prospective Airborne Complex of Frontline Aviation is Russia's fifth-generation fighter. The composite materials, innovative technologies, aerodynamic configuration and engine properties of the new plane ensure an unprecedentedly low level of its radar, optical and thermal signature. This significantly improves its efficiency against airborne and ground targets at any time of the day and in any weather.
