Russia, Egypt call for creating anti-terrorist front with Syria - Putin (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Aug 26 (Interfax) - Russia and Egypt call for the forming of a broad anti-terrorist front involving Syria.

"The essential importance of creating a broad anti-terrorist front involving key international players from regional countries, including Syria, was noted," Russian President Vladimir Putin told a news conference following the talks with visiting Egyptian counterpart Abdelfattah Elsisi.

Putin said that both sides "believe that the intensification of Russian-Egyptian foreign political cooperation meets the basic interests of our countries."

Moscow and Cairo "have common views regarding the need to step up the struggle against international terrorism that is particularly important, taking into account aggressive intentions of radical structures, primarily, the so-called Islamic State," the president said.
