MOSCOW. Aug 26 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit China on September 2-3 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Russian presidential press service reported on Wednesday.
Putin will attend celebrations dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the victory of Chinese people over Japan and the 70th anniversary of victory in WWII.
The Russian and Chinese leaders also plan to hold negotiations, the press service said.
"It is expected that the leaders of the two counties will discuss topical issues of developing bilateral relations, primarily from the point of view of implementing agreements reached during Xi's visit to Russia in May 2015 and in meetings on the sidelines of the BRICS and SCO summits in Ufa in July 2015," the press service said.
The two leaders will also "exchange opinions on topical international and regional problems, prospects for enhancing cooperation in the framework of the UN, G20, APEC and other international organizations and the convergence of construction of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Silk road Economic Belt project," it said.
A number of bilateral documents are expected to be signed during the visit, it said.
Putin will also hold a number of bilateral meetings with the leaders of states who will attend the celebrations in Beijing, it said.
