Twelve captured militiamen returned to DPR, same number of captured Ukrainian soldiers to be transferred to Kyiv on Thursday

DONETSK. Aug 27 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian side has handed 12 captured soldiers over to representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), an Interfax correspondent reported from the scene on Wednesday evening.

On Thursday, the DPR authorities are expected to transfer 12 captured Ukrainian servicemen to Kyiv.

"This exchange is being conducted in two stages due to the intensification of fighting in the immediate vicinity of the exchange venue. We have received 12 of our captives and tomorrow will hand 12 captured Ukrainian servicemen over to the Ukrainian side," a spokesman for the DPR military police told reporters.
